The Black Sea: Sochi

Black Sea offers several resorts for the tourists, but the best and most popular one is Sochi. Sochi is a very good place for having a rest not only in summer, but also in winter, as it is situated near Caucasian Mountains. These mountains are perfect for skiing and other winter attractions.

The Black Sea: Anapa


Anapa and Tuapse are other sea resorts on the shore of the Black sea. Anapa is very popular among the tourist and more than one million tourists visit this town. This town is famous for its sandy beaches that are ideal place for sunbathing in summer. Yes, you can actually have a Russia vacation on the beach.

Anapa is one of the oldest towns in Russia. Its age is more than 2500 years. It is situated in the picturesque place full of historical monuments. Flora and fauna of Anapa is very unique, so you’ll have an opportunity to see a lot of rare plants and animal living there.

The Black Sea: Svetlogorsk

The city of Svetlogorsk has always been one of the best resorts cities along the Baltic seashore. The history of this city goes back to the 13-th century, when it was just a small village.

Only in the 19-th century it stated to turn into a large spa resort. Fresh sea breezes and golden sand attracted tourists from different parts of the world. The city survived during the World War II and very soon became one of the most popular sea resorts of Russian leadership.

Nowadays the city has changed greatly, as many new hotels, restaurants have been built there. All of them have all modern conveniences with really good service. You can easily reach this city with many flights from Moscow.

The streets of the city lie on the green hills that face the Baltic Sea. In order to reach the Baltic Sea you have to walk down one of the city’s seven descents or if you are not fond of walking just use a specially designed elevator.

Every year the resort season is opened wit a holiday of song in the city of Svetlogorsk. Visitors from different parts of Russia travel  and other countries come to the city only to see and take part in the celebration of this holiday.

The city of Svetlogorsk is also famous for its sanatoriums, among which there are special sanatoriums for children. All the sanatoriums have modern diagnostic equipment as well as professional staff so you will have a great time spending your Russia tour there.

Karelia: Petrozavodsk

The city of Petrozavodsk is situated in the region of Karelia, Russian Northwest. Petrozavodsk is the capital of Karelia. The city lies in the southern part of Karelia on the Shore of Onego Lake. Petrozavodsk was founded by Russian tsar Peter the Great at the beginning of the 18th century. The city is very picturesque and has many historical monuments belonging to the time of Peter the Great.
    
The Karelian State Regional Museum is in Petrozavodsk. The museum was founded in 1871, so it is one of the oldest museums in Russia. The museum represents the architectural style of 18th century. This museum had about seven thousand items represented there in the XXth century. But nowadays it has become the owner of more than 100 items. Rich possessions of porcelain from different parts of Russia are represented in the museum. The researchers of the museum explore historical and cultural inheritance of Karelia. There is plenty to see in Karelia, as you can see from the picture and you will have a wonderful Russia travel experience there.

The Fine Arts Museum of Karelian Republic is also situated in Petrozavodsk. It was formed in 1960. The building of the museum represents the 18th century and is a monument of history. There are more than ten thousand exhibits represented in the museum, which are paintings, sculpture and graphic arts. Flights to Russia Karelia are available from Moscow and St Petersburg. You can also take one of Russian river cruises.

Petrozavodsk is a city with an old history that dates back to the 18th century. By its style Petrozavodsk greatly resembles St. Petersburg. The city was nearly completely ruined during the World War II.
There are many places in Petrozavodsk that should be visited, but first of all the traveler must choose a hotel to take a rest there. Petrozavodsk has about ten hotels that are very comfortable. Many tourists visit Petrozavodsk only to see it sacred places and sacred icons, many of which are considered wonder- working. Most monasteries possessing that kind of icons are visited not only by tourists, but also local population. Surely not all of the icons preserved, but people retain them in their memory.

Petrozavodsk has many other attractions, which are famous and can’t be missed, when coming to this great city.
